Optical Dimensions ™ was founded in 1994 dedicated to development of a new generation of production oriented surface measurement technology and products. Lasercheck® technology was patented and introduced in 1995. A series of successful initial in-process installations on roll grinding machines in steel and aluminum rolling mills worldwide followed.

Following the successful introductions, Optical Dimensions ™ developed and introduced several new designs and products based on the patented technology targeting in-process, post-process, and portable applications in a variety of industries. Accessories for integration into automated installation use were developed offering turn-key operation for targeted industries and applications

Today, thousands of Lasercheck® systems are in use worldwide in a variety of industries including sheet metal produers, automotive parts suppliers, semiconductor, solar, aerospace, printing industries to name a few.

Optical Dimensions ™ partnered with numerous manufacturers of metrology and production machinery. The Lasercheck® brand can be found under brand names such as Tropel Metrology Instruments, Schmitt Industries, and others. Lasercheck® has been added to production and automted QC inspection systems by leading suppliers and integrators. Optical Dimensions produces and sells the newest generation of Lasercheck® instruments and provides service and support to existing customers of all generations and brand names of Lasercheck® products.

Lasercheck® systems were designed and produced with never before seen level of ruggedness and durability for manufacturing floor use. Systems dating back to early manufacturing installations in the 1990's are still in use today and serviced for customers by Optical Dimensions ™.
